       Question:
      What is reflux?

      Some babies tends to regurgitates
small amount of milk after feeding; which may occur up to 3-4 times daily.
It usually occurs in the newborn period and improves with age.  There may
be a similar history in an older sibling.  Child is usually settled and
contented after the regurgitation.  He is growing well.

          Parents can manage by frequent
burping during feeding and carrying the baby in an upright position after
feeding.  If baby tend to regurgitate, lie him on his side in the cot after
burping.  Parents need a generous supply of bibs and patience.

          The danger signs are very
forceful or projectile vomiting.  Baby becomes very hungry immediately
after vomiting.  Large amounts of vomitus or greenish vomitus and swollen
abdomen are also warning signs.  Finally, if your baby is not growing well,
you should also bring her to see a paediatrician.
